Even excellent MAPD plans will cost $100 to $300 per day for the first week or two of inpatient hospital coverage. MAPD plans also have co-pays for ambulance travel of $200 to $300 or more. Indemnity plans, like Hospital Indemnity with Ambulance Riders, offer an opportunity to have a relatively low premium to help cover such costs.
